CD's!!!
JW is proud to release not one - but TWO new CD's!
JW was able to capture Australia's legandary Trumpeter, Freddie Thomas on CD before he retired from a brilliant musical career of over 70 years in supplying Australia with some of its' finest musical moments. This CD was recorded in 2003 and is now finally available. Freddie was a giant behind the musical scenes on TV, radio and concerts. He's worked with Frank Sinatra, Artie Shaw, Neil Diamond, Liberace, Bert Bacharach but to name a few. This is both a historically important as well as beautiful CD.
JW's other CD is a tribute to life-long friend, music historian, archivist and vocalist, Geoff Orr. Using JW's small group, The Silver Service Jazz Band as the support for Geoff classic 1920's/1930's crooning style, this gorgeous CD presents many unknown (rare) and beautiful (precious) songs from the Jazz Age.
As JW has a Swiss heritage, he has released a package of his traditional Swiss Folk band called "Gruetzi Mitenand" (which is Swiss-German for "Hello everybody"). This is a group that plays authentic traditional Swiss folk melodies, some European pop melodies of the past, as well (in true JW fashion), Some Swing and Jazz!
To continue to please lovers of his JW Swing Orchestra, JW has also released a CD of their performance at the MLX 2004 - Hellzapoppin' Dance Competitions recorded at Central Hall, Melbourne. It's pure Swing and really jumps!
